In 2020, Lifeway Research asked American adults if they agreed or disagreed with this statement: ‘Biblical acccounts of the physical, bodily resurrection of Jesus are completely accurate.’ An astonishing 66% of them agreed! Another 14% weren’t sure. Only 20% said they disagree. So two out of three Americans adults believe Jesus rose from dead, but many of them don’t even go to church?! What’s up with that?
I wonder if maybe the problem is that we don’t really understand why it matters that Jesus rose from dead. Right here, right now, what difference does Jesus’ resurrection make? So, since it is Easter Sunday, let’s talk about that!
